SBS Zoom sessions, cont.

I'm just about to schedule more SBS Zoom sessions for the week after next. (We're travelling next week.)

Purpose

In the first of these sessions, we told you what we were up to. I think that's well covered now with our weekly updates, so there might be a bit of that but I won't be preparing 'a presentation' or anything.

These are open sessions where you can ask for help, clarify something you're not sure about, just have a chat, moral support, just sit quietly in a corner and do some work … anything at all. They might find a natural shape as we go through the year, or they might not. I'm just going to let them be what they want to be.

The schedule

The first will be Tuesday 9th, then I'm going to make them repeat every Tuesday and Thursday, alternating between morning/evening. Hopefully that means you can find a spot that works, wherever you are in the world.

We don't yet know where we'll be on the 9th June, much less the weeks after. So I'll schedule them speculatively, and we'll do all we can to make them, but if we can't – because we're in transit, say – I'll cancel them as required.

Here's what we can commit to.

  • The calendar subscription is the source of truth. If there's an event in the calendar, the meeting is on. If there isn't, it isn't.
  • If we need to cancel a session, we should know at least 48h ahead of the session. As a rule, the moment we know we can't, we'll cancel. I want you to be able to plan to attend a session and for us not to pull it out from under you.
  • I'm happy to take specific requests for time slots. I'm just making these up based on broad analysis of timezones. If you want a specific time, just ask.

Privacy notice

FYI we record these sessions locally just so we can extract anything useful without having to worry about transcribing live. Per three things about data, I don't want to keep these recordings. As soon as they've served their purpose, we delete them.

We'd never publish anything from them without your explicit permission and can't see a scenario where we'd ever need to ask. That's not what they're for.
